The Lovingly Baked Series

The Lovingly Baked Series

Dear Friends.

As someone who is always trying to invite more intentional, calm moments into my life, I enjoy activities that encourage me to take my time, move slowly and immerse myself in the present.

As a childcare worker in my previous profession and a momma to a teen who is just as in love with a baked treat as me, I can say with certainty that I've baked when I needed to.

Over those years I've made many a burnt muffin and been the culprit behind many a culinary disaster in my little Irish kitchen!

It actually became a running joke that if it wasn't crispy it wasn't cooked.

For years I convinced myself that it just wasn't something I thrived at... or had the patience for....

Yet last year for some reason I still dont understand. I randomly purchased a brand new apron and popped it on for the very first time.

So imagine my genuine surprise that a year forward, its used several times a week as I excitedly bake breads, pastries, cakes and more for my loved ones!

The have genuinely fallen deeply in love with baking, it has become a huge part of my slow living practice and  the more I partake in it , the more I want to learn.

Theres just something powerful about being able to control what ingredients will become part of your produce, and it's opened a deep appreciation within me for the effort that professional farmers, bakers etc go through to get our food onto the shelves of the stores we buy them from.

Also I can now say with pride that it has been a very long time since I have burned any of the delicious treats I've made and everyone in the home devours everything I make eagerly, and I love to see it!

However we all know that I'm not adept enough in the kitchen (yet) to create my own recipes from scratch and a lot of the bakes that have become my favorite to lovingly create are sourced from professional chefs and bakers who have spent countless hours, recourses and energy to perfect the recipes that we now imitate and enjoy.

Which is the reason why I created the series : Lovingly baked on the blog.

This series is my way to share with you some of the fantastic recipe's I have discovered throughout my baking journey so far and give credit and praise to the ones who created them.

Over time you will be able to find these exact same recipes as I attempt to make them and film the results over on the You tube channel : Our Little Irish Life .

I look forward to connecting with you in the comments below and learning all about your favorite bakers and go to cooking recipes!

Until we met again please enjoy wandering around our virtual cottage, a home from home for kindred souls!

Sending all my Love

Hannah
